We have a variety of lighting equipment for use here at Basford Hurst Cottage, all of which is included in our hire rates;

Dressing Room

Basford Hurst Cottage is run by an experienced model and she has made every effort to tailor the dressing room to have every item a model could need readily available including the following;

  • A warm, cosy dressing gown
  • Large Hollywood Vanity mirror with variable light settings and USB ports
  • Hairdryer and GHD Straighteners
  • Hair clips, bobbles and pins
  • Safety Pins in different sizes
  • Make up remover
  • Hair spray
  • Cotton pads, cotton balls and cotton buds
  • Clothes Steamer
  • Iron and Ironing board (on request)
  • Various accessories including necklaces, hats and sunglasses
  • Different colour fabrics and materials
  • Ladies’ sanitary products
  • Small scissors
  • Biscuit tin filled with treats and snacks
  • A comfy sofa to relax on
  • Towels (on request)

We are always looking for ways to improve so if there is something we are missing please don’t hesitate to make us aware of it!! We will do our best to find it!

Facilities

A country kitchen with a large granite countertop, white cabinets, and multiple windows allowing natural light. There are potted plants, kitchen appliances, and decorative items on the countertop. This is the main kitchen area at Basford Photography Location, Staffordshire.

Easily accessible toilet facilities on both the ground and first floor

Large kitchen complete with kettle, microwave, electric oven and hob available for use if required.

Refreshments always available, coffee (incl decaff), teas (incl herbal and decaff), milk (including oat milk), sugar, sweeteners and honey, cold drinks (incl Water, squash and some fizzy drinks) . Ample biscuits and fruit readily available. Plenty of onsite, private parking – Enough for approximately 16 cars if parked appropriately

Accessibility

The main Drawing Room at Basford Photography Location, Staffordshire. A spacious, largely empty room with wooden flooring, large windows, and a chandelier on the ceiling.

Due to the age of the property, access to the first floor of the property is limited and can only be reached via a stair case.

Throughout the ground floor of the property there are one or two stairs between some of the larger rooms.

Access into the property is via a minimum of two stairs.

Once inside, doorways are wide and would accommodate a wheelchair.

We are looking into routes to make our location more accessible and are hoping to invest in a ramp to allow easier access into and around the first floor of the property.

Accommodation

A cozy bedroom available for shoots and overnight stays at Basford Photography Location, Staffordshire, featuring a white metal bed, decorated with a floral quilt and pink pillows. Bright blue curtains frame a large window, and exposed wooden beams highlight the ceiling.

We appreciate that many people may be travelling a fair distance to visit us at Basford, something which we are extremely grateful for! Therefore, we are in a position whereby we can provide overnight accommodation if required.

We have two king size bedrooms available. Both have a King Size bed and private bathroom. The two bedrooms and bathrooms are also used for photo shoots. We will however provide you with clean sheets, bedding and towels for your stay.

We must stress that we are not a ‘bed and breakfast’. We are not able to provide breakfast the following morning. However, you will have access to kitchen facilities should you require them. So please bring your own food and drinks as required.

It is also important to note that should there be a studio booking the following day you will be required to leave early enough to allow a turn around. This could in some cases be as early as 8am. We will advise you of this as required. If, however, there is no studio booking the following day we can be flexible on a leaving time.

Our fee for an overnight stay is competitively priced at just £80 per room, per night. For touring models, we are very happy to offer accommodation at a discounted rate.
